Pharmacists provide feedback on Canada Health Infoway’s clinical use cases

CPhA collaborated with Canada Health Infoway to provide frontline pharmacists’ input into four clinical use cases developed for the 2015 EHR business architecture blueprint. These cases, which describe the business processes and information flows one needs to perform to complete clinical activities, were validated by eleven pharmacists. The pharmacists welcomed the proposed concepts and functionalities of the future EHR, as they facilitate interdisciplinary practice and will give pharmacists easier access to the patient information.

Working group to identify gaps in harmonization of e-health initiatives

CACDS is leading the establishment of an e-Health Harmonization Working Group comprised of three jurisdictions and three industry representatives. The group will coordinate communication and distribution of material to seek input from other pharmacy stakeholders. The initiative’s purpose is to mitigate the fragmentation and lack of harmonization of the drug information projects across the jurisdictions.
